If you are interested in bringing a loving and affectionate dog into your family, pug adoptions are something you may want to consider. Pugs are a highly social breed and get along well with kids and all family members. They like to be very involved in the family activities and can even show some signs of depression when not allowed to participate. Pug adoptions require special consideration. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages to owning a Pug.
ADVANTAGES
As mentioned the Pug is a highly social dog, has an even temperament, and is enthusiastic about life. They need to be included in your family activities for their good mental health. Pug adoptions should be considered if you have small kids because they are a kind, gentle, non-threatening breed.
Pugs make good traveling companions because they are small. The breed averages approximately fifteen pounds. You can take them in the car with you or even on airplanes with little problems. Pug adoptions provide you with a pet that will make you the center of attention when you’re in public places. Their unusual appearance and small size is like a magnet for attention when you are out and about. Some people think they are cute while others think they are ugly. Regardless, they are head turners.
DISADVANTAGES
Pugs are notorious for shedding. If you are a perfect housekeeper pug adoptions are something you may want to avoid. Despite their short hair they actually have a fluffy undercoat that will adhere to all kinds of upholstery, clothing, and carpet and drive some people crazy. Because of the shedding issue they need to be brushed on a daily basis.
Pug adoptions may not be a good idea if you are very sensitive to noise. Pugs make a tremendous amount of noise when they breathe. They wheeze, snort, and snore unlike any other breed of dog in existence. It’s basically impossible to have them in the same room with you at night if you are a light sleeper.
If you want to have a dog that is easy to train pug adoptions should give you cause to rethink your choice. Pugs are known to be a very stubborn breed and many people have reported that it has taken almost a year to house train their dog. You need to be a patient owner if you adopt a pug.
Hopefully, you now have some more relevant information to decide if pug adoptions are for you. The best way to make a decision about any dog you want to adopt is to spend some time with a specific breed. As always I recommend that you look for a rescue shelter dog instead of a pet store dog. This way you can save the life of a pet that may be heading to the gallows.
